Ford had a complex legacy SiteMinder R6 environment that needed modernization to R12 without disrupting thousands of users. The existing infrastructure lacked OAuth support for modern API security, and federation capabilities were limited to basic SAML.
→The Solution
Designed a parallel Access Management environment enabling SSO between R6 and R12 during the transition period. Upgraded SiteMinder Policy Server and integrated with Ping Federate for advanced federation. Implemented OAuth 2.0 for secure API access and migrated user directories from LDAP to Active Directory.
